Hi David,

Forget my last post it did work some but not all this for me is a night mare there must be a better way of cleaning the data from xml feeds before inserting them in the database?

this one problem form product title?

Amd Triple Core Phenom™ 8450 Motherboard Bundle 2gb Ddr2 800 Memory Phenom Bundle 2gb

any ideas on how to get this fixed adding some code to admin.php to clean from all feeds seems for me a better way to go?

Regards

Darren

Hi Darren,

Could you perhaps email me with a link to your site and the name of the feed with the encoding problems and I'll download it from your /feeds/ folder to my test server and take a look...

Cheers,
David.

Hi Dave,

At present i can not due the fact i am on my test server and its not live to the outside world the feed errors are not just based on one feed from affiliate network the main one from my example above was from maplin feed but there are many others it also the way affiliate networks do not check feed data example would be i have shipping cost and shipping period the data inside this vary from text, to numbers.

why they can not ask merchants to follow default layout like Goggle feed if it is not right they should make sure the merchant feeds are in the correct format and make sure the data in format is correct.

Same goes for brand register 10 feeds the same in PT and and you import the data then you find merchants can not even put the correct values in correct fields which kills PT database.

my honest opinion is it is pathetic you try to market merchants products yet they just not interested in helping you in anyway its hard enough to get good results so at least we can earn a wage in return more sales for merchants their mind set beats me!

Hi,

Which Maplin feed are you using? I use the Maplin feed from Affiliate Window and it works fine...

Are you using the Webgains version, and if so - which format (XML, CSV etc..)? Perhaps if you could email me your download link for the feed I'll download it to my test server and check it out for you...

Cheers,
David.
