I would like to be able to set the description tag on the porducts.php page from the merchant description but limit the out put to the first 100 letters. How ?

I would like to take the product description and remove all the "and" "the" "if" (and other words of my choosing) etc and then separte the remaining text by a "'" to be used in the meta keyword section . How ?

EXAMPLE:

Great saving on this Sony silver dictaphone with built in memory and 95 hours recording time

becomes

(remove - Great saving on this with built in memory and 95 hours recording time)

leaving

Sony, silver, dictaphone,

Hi Eddie,

You will be able to do this using the templating system in the pro version. The reason it's not possible at the moment is because the HTML header is output before it is known what the page is about (within reason) so you haven't got the information available to put in the meta tags. That's all part of the "keep it simple" strategy of the current distribution.

I know you wont be drawn on this but before I get too involved here I would like to know what implicatuions (cost wise and time wise ) you are refering to with the pro version.

I think thats a fair question ...

I'm reckoning on around 4 - 5 weeks at the moment (unfortunately I cannot dedicate time to this project at the moment). Price wise; probably about the same again as Magic Parser, so a £45 upgrade from the "free" version.
