permalinks on wordpress

Submitted by SteveBolton on Tue, 2016-12-20 12:01 in

Hi David,

I have managed to set my price tapestry feed links to be user friendly, which is great for seo, however, I also have wordpress posts that are affected by the requirement to set the wordpress permalinks as numeric, rather than the post name. This creates a conflict, as if I set my permalinks in wordpress to numeric, the post permalinks are not seo friendly but the PT search works fine, yet if I set the permalinks to post name, the search / look up function in PT doesn't work, is there any way to have the best of both worlds?

Thanks in advance and best regards,
Steve

Hi Steve,

You should be able to use any permalink format that does not end in "/", for example:

/%year%/%monthnum%/%postname%

The issue being, that where a permalink format ends in "/", it is automatically inserted resulting in product page URL for example;

http://www.example.com/product/Product-Name.html/

I will be reviewing how this works as part of the next distribution but if you're still not sure, let me know and I'll check it out further with you...

Cheers,
David.
