wordpress site not returning any results

Submitted by SteveBolton on Thu, 2016-12-01 12:02 in

Hi David,

I am using the Wordpress plugin and have set up the /pt/ sub-folder for the PT installation in there which seems to work fine, and have configured the Wordpress plugin and created a page with the [pto] short code on it, which shows the search box, no featured products and doesn't pull in any category, brand or merchant information, any pointers?

Thanks in advance,
Steve

Hi Steve,

It's most like urldecode() issue - fix is described in this post...

Cheers,
David.

Hi Steve,

Are permalinks enabled using a format not ending in "/" (e.g. Numeric), and the required .htaccess created in the WordPress installation folder?

Cheers,
David.

Hi David, I have set the permalinks to Numeric - won't this affect the seo having a non-friendly setting? Also, what do I need to do with the Wordpress .htaccess file? Thanks Steve

Hi Steve,

If you're adding PriceTapestry.org to an existing site then it would be best to leave the Permalink settings as they are - however the Numeric option doesn't prevent WordPress from generating clean search engine friendly permalinks from post titles.

You don't need to do anything to the WordPress .htaccess file as long as it is in place, which if you are already using permalinks it almost certainly will be.

However, another issue came to light regarding deprecated functionality - I posted the fix that will be included in the next distribution here...

Hope this helps!

Cheers,
David.

Hi Steve,

That's covered pretty much everytying i'm afraid i'd be happy to take a look on your server if that would be at all possible, the first thing to double check is that the /pt/ Price Tapestry installation is in the exact same MySQL database (same server, username, password and database) - which shouldn't cause any problem since WordPress uses a default table prefix of wp_ and Price Tapestry uses pt_ - if you'd like me to take a look if you could email me a link to the installation, and also attach wp-config.php and /pt/config.php I'll check it out further with you...

Cheers,
David.
