Multiple installations and sitemap

Submitted by Petri on Wed, 2016-01-20 06:09 in

Hi,

I have a question about sitemap.

I have a site that have Wordpress on toplevel:
www.example.com

I have Pricetapestry installed in:
www.example.com/master (this installation have all the feeds)

I have about 12 other pricetapestry installation like:
www.example.com/category1
www.example.com/category2
www.example.com/category3

The question is:
What should i do with the sitemap?

At the moment i think every installation has his own sitemap.
Should i disable sitemaps for every subfolder and add them in the toplevel domain sitemap?
If that is what is should do, i could use some advice how to do it.

Thank you!

Best Regards
Petri

Hello Petri,

As sitemap.php of each installation returns a sitemap index each would need to be submitted individually I'm afraid as the sitemaps.org protocol doesn't support an index of indexes, so simply add to your webmaster tools account or other sitemap submission tools;

http://www.example.com/category1/sitemap.php
http://www.example.com/category2/sitemap.php
http://www.example.com/category3/sitemap.php
etc.

Cheers,
David.
