Import vs. Slow Import

Submitted by IG on Sun, 2015-04-05 12:00 in

Happy Easter Sunday David!

When I import a particular feed with less than 100 records, no products are imported. However, when I use Slow Import for the same feed, 6 records are imported, which is correct as the rest are duplicates. Any idea, why regular import ignores these records whereas slow import doesn't?

Kind regards,
Ivo

Hello Ivo,

I know you've been running the script for several years, and in earlier distributions pre-import processing was handled separately by regular and slow import, so it's possible that changes to includes/admin.php affecting regular import were not duplicated in slow import.

If you'd like to email me includes/admin.php and admin/feeds_import_slow.php from your installation I'll check them out for you and modify to use the same code for pre-import processing / look at why there should be any difference for you...

Cheers,
David.

Hi David

I am actually using the latest distribution in this particular case. {code saved}

Please let me know if you still need me to send you any files, now that you know that I use the latest distribution.

Kind regards,
Ivo

Hello Ivo,

You didn't mention the installation URL so I wasn't able to test on your site but if you could you let me know the installation URL, and I'll fetch a couple of the example feeds that you mentioned to my test server and check them it out there for you

Thanks,
David.

Hi David

I am sorry about that. The url is as following: {link saved}. Please note that I am using two filters on every feed.

Thanks for looking into this.

Kind regards,
Ivo

Hello Ivo,

I wasn't able to replicate the problem locally i'm afraid however looking at your site, I see that there are a number of other feeds from the same merchant so it looks like it's down to duplicate product handling. This should be handled identically by both import methods so I'll investigate this further as soon as i'm back online properly tomorrow morning,

Apologies for any inconvenience;

Cheers,
David.
