Hello,
I am having no luck whatsoever when it comes to product relevancy. I have tried everything including product mapping. Whats even worse is the broader the search term gets the less relevant results people are likely to get. For example someone searching for a laptop computer is most likely going to type in "laptops" "Laptop" "Laptop Computer" "Notebook PC". Now when you go to my site I have plenty of laptops and notebooks but the first thing people get when searching for laptop is a bunch of garbage results.
How can I fix this problem. You can visit my site to check it out. It is {link saved}
If you type in laptop you will not get anything relevant at all. You can eve type in toshiba laptop, which I have a ton of and you will not even see a laptop until page 27 here is the page: {link saved}
There has to be a way to make this a little ore relevant. I have even tried product mapping and that does not seem to be working at all.
I am willing to send you any scripts that you need in order to fix this problem and any help would be greatly appreciated. I love your product and do not want to give up on it because to be quite frank, I have tried everything else out there and nothing matches up as far as ease of use but this relevancy issue is a major problem
Hi Jalvini, Sorry for posting in your thread. However, I am experiencing the same issue.
David would you be able to help me on this matter as well?
Right now if I do a search for "Camera"
However, the result fall on Handphone with Non Camera as well. It's would be better if it's could do a match on category based on search results. Hope for your reply! Thanks!
Regards,
Daniel
Hello Jalvini,
Site is looking great! I'm sorry you're having trouble with relevancy - for broad ranging sites it can take a little tweaking to get right, especially in terms of generic terms which are more likely to reveal good results as a category search so - so that is what I think will help!
You've obviously made a few modifications, so if you could email me your search.php i'll add some things for you to try out...
Cheers,
David.
