I've designed the Voucher Codes implementation to be easily "back portable" into an existing Price Tapestry installation - if you could bear with me whilst I respond to initial feedback and then what I plan to do at the same time as making 12/10A the official distribution (1st December) I'll post patch files and instructions for adding Voucher Codes support to an existing, modified and established installation...

Lunen, if you are on Mac use FileMerge (part of XCode tools) to compare the files between the two, I've found it's a great way to upgrade.
$> cd /pub
$> more beer
Point to note - admin/database_tool.php is compatible across ALL distributions, so you can Backup an 11/09A distribution and Restore into a 12/10A installation no problem...

Hi Paul,
I'm collating various coupon feeds with a view to implementing this so I'll keep you updated. The formats however vary considerably, with validity generally only provided in textual form, e.g. "10% discount on all purchases over £500* exclusions apply" so I'm not sure how straight forward it is going to be to support but i'm certainly aware of the interest!

I've just started testing but i'm having problems importing feeds with multiple merchants such as Affiliate Windows feeds.
If I name the merchant manually it imports ok, if I use a field for the merchant name, nothing is imported.

I am wondering is there a way to create a coupon page (coupon.php) page which shows all the merchants along with logos and their coupons that are available from the PT site. Commission Junction and maybe a few other affiliate networks offer promotional code datafeeds through the ftp server for merchants that you are a member with promotions. I would like to take advantage of these codes on the price comparison site with a page that shows coupons for the available merchants. It may be a totally different add-on feature from the current manual voucher code update. I would like to download the coupons datafeeds into a folder or feeds folder and place them onto a coupon page for all the merchants(& logos) with promotions. I would like to run a cron job to keep the coupons updated regularly.
Is this possible?

I'm aware of the interest regarding coupon feeds, and I'm also working on a coupons page driven by the manually entered voucher codes with logos, code description and best of all a search link to all qualifying products for that merchant!

The download page for the beta version is {link expired} - if you've lost your registration code drop me an email and I'll resend it for you.
Regarding upgrading, the Database Tool (admin/database_tool.php included in the latest distributions is compatible with all versions, so if you extract that file and upload it to your existing installation you can then follow the backup / restore documentation (manual page) to export all your current settings into a new installation!

It is still in beta, but the beta download is now at "release candidate" level which I plan to launch as the new release tomorrow. Of note;
- Voucher codes now editable - demo (username: demo, password: demo)
- Merchants with voucher codes A-Z including search links - demo
(above has been implemented with a new search operator - voucher:MerchantName:VoucherCode to return all products applicable to that voucher code!)
Will make an announcement on the forum as soon as it has been released...

Is this a brand new installation or is it an upgrade? do you have a list of changes/new features for this release?
love the voucher page david!!, great idea, is there anyway it could show the relevant vouchers only, ie i import filters from say /tv/ into /laptops/ but some merchants don't sell laptops but their vouchers still try to show up from the vouchers.php page, is there anyway to fix this?

chiquita - it will require a brand new installation; but as always you will be able to use the Database Tool to backup your existing Price Tapestry installation and then restore it into the new installation; so all your feed registrations, filters etc. can be preserved. It is also backwards compatible with any /html/ theme or template that you may be using; with a minor addition that will be required to support Voucher Codes, which I'll document once the new version is released.
Phil - I would make sure that you only set-up the voucher codes in the installation that you want them to appear in rather than across the board...

also I posted a question a while ago regarding a mod to the merchant page where you could have links to merchants beginning with A ans then a separate page for merchants beginning with B , you was going to email me a mod but i never received this, could you maybe send again or maybe you forgot??

The merchant logos on Merchant A-Z and Voucher Codes A-Z is now implemented in the latest beta download but were probably not at the time you downloaded - if you download again that should be enabled.

2. I think there is a typo in the latest distribution in html/atoz.php

3. I was trying to implement to merchant logo's when i ran into this. But all i get is the textlink back instead of the logo.

Could you tell me how it should work? Integrating the merchant logo? I also want to use it on the homepage where i have place the actual voucherscodes

I don't actually see the exact same code in the beta distribution - the name is displayed if there is no logo value for that atoz item.
To implement merchant logos into the existing html/atoz.php, the best thing to do would be to replace this code;
print "<p><a href='".$item["href"]."'>".$item["name"]."</a></p>";...with:
