I am a newbie to PT and trying it out for the first time and have already broke my site tonight lol! So if this is a stupid question its because I had to reverse what I had done to get the rest of my site to work!
PT is installed on my site here:

when you search for skirts for example {link saved} you cant go any further than that, clicking on any skirts just gives a 404 error how can I fix this?

Hi there!
All it is, is that you have enabled clean URLs ($config_useRewrite) in your config.php (line 8), but have not yet created your .htaccess file.
You need to create .htaccess by making a copy of htaccess.txt that you will find in your Price Tapestry folder, but in your case, since you have installed Price Tapestry into the /shopping/ folder, you first need to edit the file and change line 5 to:
RewriteBase /shopping/Perhaps the easiest way to do this is edit the file as htaccess.txt making the change described above, upload it to your site, and then using your FTP program, Right-Click on htaccess.txt in the remote window and look for "Rename...", and change the name to .htaccess - and your product links should then work fine!
