Got my first sale yesterday! - any Commission Junction users out there?

Submitted by paul30 on Thu, 2008-12-04 00:47 in

Hey everyone, I got my first commission yesterday (keeping my fingers crossed) and I have a question that is a bit off what PT can actually do - I want to know which item was bought (or which page did they buy it from), so I contacted Commission Junction to find that out, and the answer I got was:

You will have to contact the Merchant to find that out...

I mean... - WHAT??? - Do I have to contact my merchants about every sale that I will make??? - That is ridiculous to say the least!

Not to track the purchases would mean "to go blind trying to sell something I dont even know what!"

So my question is: How do you track what products do you sell? and Which pages bring you money?

Thanks in advance.

Well done - that will wet your appetite!
I don't know if this works for every merchant, but it does for argos -
if you go to "run reports", you get a list of pending commissions,
click on the price of one of the transactions and you get a summary of the commission.
Click on the price again and you get a commission report at the end of the table is "Details".
Click on details and it gives you another table with the SKU/PI number which you can look up in your feed.

Hey Kelly, - Thanks a lot! - I dont understand why commission junction could not come up with that :)!!

PS: You are right, it does not work for all the merchants, but it does for those that list the SKU/PI.

Thanks again
Paul
