I need to provide search results to a computer magazine but how?

Submitted by kempo on Wed, 2007-11-07 10:43 in

I have been requested to supply price information to an online IT magazine.
They are creating a product reviews for IT sector and they want to gave price
information to their visitors for the reviewed product.
They gave me as an example of http://www.pcworld.com. They have a same system
and they gave price information to the visitors by doing yahoo search marketing services.
Is it possible to supply my sites price information to them? What could be the ways? XML, DB query
or any other methods?. It is very important for me because their google page rank is 5 and
they will give link to my site for every page which contains my price information service.
Please help me!

Hi Kempo,

Good catch!

How you would go about it, seeing as Price Tapestry does not have this kind of data export at the moment would therefore be influenced by how they would like to receive the data. Has the publisher given you any kind of indication as to what kind of interface they would like to use?

You also have to consider the bandwidth impact this could have on your server. If they are going to get prices from your site for every page view of a product on their site, and they are very busy, then you need to watch out for this. Alternatively, they might just want to link to your page and let the prices come from your site, which they could actually do through the existing sitemap mechanism....

Cheers,
David.

They want to get the query results as an XML format. It is like the XML feed from the merchants. I think the link can be as follows:
http://www.fiyatbul.net/export.php?q=(search query) (export.php also must be written to do that) and the result can be XML. If I can supply this kind of link to them they will use the first 10 cheapest merchants data and show them in their page.
