Global filter

Submitted by henk on Mon, 2006-12-11 19:32 in

Is it possible to have a global filter, so you dont have to make filters each merchant anymore.

Example: link the auto dvd spelers and auto dvd speler are the same but when you want to fiter you must search first for the merchant than filter it.

Thx

Henk

Hello Henk,

You could be using Category Mapping (which is global) in this situation. If you register a category name as "auto dvd speler" and then register a mapped name of "auto dvd spelers" they will all import under the one category, whichever feed the category is in.

Apologies if I have misunderstood, however..

Cheers,
David.

Hi Henk,

Not sure I understand you properly here.

Have you setup Category Mapping to handle this and it's not working?

Master Category: "auto dvd speler"

Mapped Category: "auto dvd spelers"

This might not work when one version of the category has spaces at the start or end, for example the category (in the feed) is actually "auto dvd spelers " (note the space on the end) - so this would need to be added to the mapping as well...

Cheers,
David.

Hi Henk,

I'm afraid the extra description fields are added to the description during the import, so they are not available as separate data at runtime.

David.
