Tapestry Adwords

Submitted by philstone on Tue, 2006-11-14 11:20 in

Hi Dave

Been thinking about whether or not it would be possible to create a script that can be used on other websites that would place related adverts from the Price Tapestry data base, also creating links from other sites, i have a few sites and would like to have content related ads displayed from buy24-7, would this even be possible by developing the related script a little further?

Sorry, this may not even be possible, but i may as well ask

Possibly possible :)

Are you wanting to go as far as having some JavaScript to include the "ads" and then some mechanism to scan the page for appropriate keywords?

Alternatively, the page title element could be passed via JavaScript directly without having to spider or crawl the page. Do you think a product search using the HTML title of the page that you want to display ads on would produce good enough results?

Hi dave

in this instant the title on the page would produce the right results - yes

i'm assuming this would be the easier to do method?

Hi Phil,

Yes - you can pass the page title to a remote JavaScript on the URL. I'll have a play with this - watch this space...

Hi Phil,

Yes - JavaScript is all done from the client; so it doesn't matter what you're using the generate the pages.

Cheers,
David.
