Does this works with Wordpress? SearchExternal.zip

Hello David,
I have a question about the SearchExternal.zip

Does this works with Wordpress?
>> https://www.pricetapestry.com/node/2289

I have uploaded the file searchExternal.php into the root directory
and also tested the searchExternal.php into the pto plugin folder... both times with no results.

I created a Wordpress test page with the search code @ {link saved}

Does this works with Wordpress?

Greetings Arlo

**By the way** I've been using your plugin daily for months now and every day is full of joy ... now I'm discovering the wordpress options :-)

Hello Arlo,

Thank you for your comments!

Sure, searchExternal.php can be called from a WordPress installation but the script itself needs to be installed in the top level directory of the Price Tapestry installation (which must be on the same server).

Then the "calling code" - the PHP used to call the script and pull in the results HTML can go in a post or page on your WordPress site but you will need to use a plugin that allows arbitrary PHP code to be executed within a page or post.

Alternative of course, with PriceTapestry.org for WordPress installed you can just use the [PTO search="Keywords"] shortcode in a page or post to incorporate search results directly from the database ( https://www.pricetapestry.org/node/21 )

Cheers,
David.
