Problems with the hierarchy mapping and product assignment

Submitted by wickings on Thu, 2018-03-29 09:27 in

Hi there

I have started using the hierarchy mapping, which makes the site much more interesting and easy to navigate; but I have a lot of problems showing the products:

{link saved}

I have assigned a category with a lot of alternatives, but the category shows absolutely no products at all. I have imported the products several times, but nothing happens.

Have you seen this before?

Hi,

Although you can still use the Category Hierarchy Mapping tool in the admin area, it doesn't look like Category Hierarchy is enabled - please check line 92 of config.advanced.php which should be set to TRUE as follows;

  $config_useCategoryHierarchy = TRUE;

That should be all it is - a re-import will be required before the product will appear in the hierarchy on the front end...

Cheers,
David.

Hi David

I have made the change as you describe, but it does definitely not make it better... try go to {link saved}

This page should show a lot of products, but now it only shows the main categories...

Hi,

When using the Category Hierarhcy, the Category A-Z provides a navigation all the way down the hierarchy, showing the search results at the lowest level categories which is where mapping is intended to be applied.

However, if a high level category is provided to search.php as a manually entered query you will see results from all sub-categories, for example if you try on your installation a search for:

category:bornetoj/Fovertoj

Cheers,
David.
