Upc code jumbled up

Submitted by bodybuildingcom... on Fri, 2017-09-22 14:42 in

Hi David,

I am trying to import a feed from a merchant, but their upc code seems to be jumbled up at the time I want register the feed. It looks fine in the CSV file, but it gets jumbled up when I want to import.

It has happened to some of the other feeds, but it has fixed itself when I re-imported them a few times.

I occasionally see two separate issues, one is that it jumbles it up into numbers such as these 741826373069, another one is that it it may slightly re-arrange the upc code 7.94E+11 TO 7.93333+11.

I am wondering whether it is the feeds i.e. CSV files jumbling them up?

Thanks.

Norbert

Hello Norbert,

As your `ean` field is the default custom field type of VARCHAR(255) (which it must be in order to result in the values being displayed as per your post) then this will be a feed issue - I guess the process generating the feed is somehow ending up representing the numbers in standard form / decimal shifted for some reason!

(if you wanted to check in the feed, don't forget that you can scroll through the raw records in the Sample Data shown below the form on Feed Registration Step 2)

Cheers,
David.
