secure conections

I have been trying to set up a site that does not give a "insecure" tag in the address bar. All works as it should loading the script, I get the green tag showing a secure site, but after loading products the site registers as insecure(yellow)...is there a fix for this as Google now demotes or even removes sites that are not secure.

Hi Philip,

This is most likely down to merchant product images being http URLs. Browsers display the insecure warning when an https site includes http resources such as 3rd party images.

In many cases, you may find that even if a feed contains http image URLs, they will work over https. You would need to check this on a per-feed basis, use the Imported Analysis tool (Tools > Feed Utilities) and browse to a product, and then right-click on the image and select your browser's "View Image" option. Then try changing http to https in the address bar, and if the image displays correctly you could use a Search and Replace filter against the Image URL field for that feed to replace http:// with https://

Another option would be to make the replacement as a global filter, and then check each merchant on your site and any for which images are not being displayed re-register the feeds without selecting (or de-selecting if it was auto-detected) the field for Image URL and maybe contact the merchants / affiliate networks concerned to ask about making https images available in their feed(s)...

Hope this helps!

Cheers,
David.

And also you can use Image Cache script which David provides us (working as proxy, imageCacheTime = 0)
