XML DTD1.5

Submitted by NiceGuyEddie on Thu, 2016-10-20 15:11 in

Hello David,

A network has just introduced the XML DTD 1.5 standard for their feeds and are apparently retiring DTD 1.3.

I have tried importing the new DTD 1.5 XML feed but when I try to register it appears to not be parsed correctly by Price Tapestry.

Is there something that needs to be changed in my PT installation to parse the new feed?

Thanks

Hi,

Affiliate Window have launched v1.5 DTD for their XML format feeds - all fields auto-detect correctly with the latest distribution but I know you have been running the script for several years now so it might just be down to a the price field not being auto-detected incorrectly.

On Feed Registration Step 2, confirm by checking the sample data displayed below the form that each field selected contains data, specifically regarding price, if your installation auto-detecting:

PRICE

...check from the sample data whether this should actually be:

PRICE/BUYNOW

That should be all it is - if you're still not sure, if you could perhaps let me know the feed URL (I'll remove before publishing your reply) that you are using, I'll check it out on my test server for you...

Cheers,
David.

I just tried it again and it works! Sorry for the waste of time.

I am actually upgrading my installation to the latest version but have run into some problems with some modifications that you helped me with before. I sent an email to your support address but I am not sure if it got through?

Thanks again

No problem!

Yes - I did receive your email (I only just made the connection sorry otherwise would have mentioned earlier) however my reply is being rejected by your mail server;

Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently:
     paul@*********.co.uk
Technical details of permanent failure:
Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the server for the recipient domain *********.co.uk by mail.*********.co.uk.
The error that the other server returned was:
550 5.1.1 <paul@*********.co.uk>: Recipient address rejected: User unknown in virtual mailbox table

I've retried twice today, will give it a few hours and then resend again...

Cheers,
David.
