Backup problems

Submitted by Actual on Sat, 2015-05-30 23:16 in

Hi,

I run 2 sites (a UK and a USA site). When I click 'Backup' on the USA site I in Database Tool I get presented with an XML I can download and save. With the UK site, 'Backup' just displays the code in Chrome or Firefox (Internet Explorer refuses to display it giving an error) and I can't save the backup.

Any ideas how to fix this?

Hello Actual,

In order to present the file for download PHP needs to be able to set the headers appropriately which must be done before any output has been generated and it sounds like it is unable to do so on your UK site which is most likely down to some white space or new line characters accidentally crept on to the beginning or end of the config files. Check config.php and config.advanced.php and make sure that there is no white space or new lines before or after the opening and closing PHP tags - that should be all it is.

Hope this helps!

Cheers,
David.
