Hi David
Is there a way to add filters to the filter for example a shirt website, once you get results for a shirt can you filter the shirts by Colour, size, pin stripe and so on and so on?
Basically edit your filter to add more filters, can this be done?
Andrew
Hello Andrew,
Sure - having added custom fields based on the standard instructions adding new fields is essentially just a case of duplicating each instance of code applicable to the standard filters. This applies to the files:
search.php
html/searchfilters.php
The most generic is "categoryFilter". In each file, use your text editor's Search function to locate each instance of code relating to "categoryFilter" and duplicate, replacing every instance of "category" with the exact field name as your custom field appears in the database.
If you are not sure at all, if you would like to email me the above files and also your config.advanced.php and let me know which custom fields you required filters adding for and I'll modify them for you..
Cheers,
David.
