Hi David
Hope all well with you, as you know I have been using EAN Auto mapping on my product pages successfully for some time, I have been wondering of late could this be developed a little further. let me explain
Currently the script will match products through
1. Same Product Name
2. Same EAN Numbers in %EAN% field
3. Product mapping via /admin/
is it possible to add another auto match feature?
I have 5 companies who use the same feeds (Littlewoods,ISME,K&CO,Woolworths&Choice), i was wondering, with two of them I use the %BRAND/BRANDNAME% + %MODELNUMBER% via the filters for matching product names with most of the other feeds on my site, however each of the 5 feeds I am referring to have a %PID% field with unique random Letter/Number codes e.g.KA065, all 5 feeds don't use EAN numbers at all and 3/5 feeds I use %BRAND/BRANDNAME% + %TEXT/NAME% which make ridiculious product names like:
Hoover 9 Place Setting Slimline Dishwasher HEDS968 White, White compared to the 2/5 feeds where i can get it tidied and looking like Hoover HEDS968 would is be possible to have a fourth matching option where if it doesn't match using the 3 methods above that we could employ an "IF" option that will match product by this %PID% field matching if the other three methods have not matched?
Hope this makes sense
Thanks
Phil

Hi Phil,
I think it would be a straight forward process to run a custom matching process for those 5 feeds however it would be necessary to identify a "master" feed of those 5 - one of the 2/5 from which you can make sensible product names and then use that to re-name the other 3/5 by %PID%.
If you would like to email me your latest includes/admin.php and any other files relevant to the import that apply the current matching process (e.g. an eanfix.php script if you are using one), and also include in your email
- URL of the installation
- The filenames of the 5 feeds as they are currently saved in your /feeds/ folder and if you could indicate from which of those feeds you are able to derive sensible product names via the filters...
Cheers,
David.
