Adding 'Text Before' using another column in feed

Submitted by Convergence on Wed, 2012-05-02 18:17 in

Greetings,

This should be interesting :)

Want to add 'Text Before' in the product name field.

But want the text to be a variable pulling the info from the Brand field. So instead of the product name reading "Blue tennis shoe" it would say "Puma Blue tennis shoe". Whereas Puma is the brand name. Course the brand would change depending on the product.

Is there a variable that can be used in the filter box?

Thanks!

Hi,

Yes - this can be done with the %FIELDNAME% placeholders that are supported by the Text Before and Text After filters - more info.

They refer to actual feed fields, which you can refer to from Feed Registration Step 2 in the sample data - they're the field names in the left hand column of the sample data, so if your brand field is BRAND, then %BRAND% will pull in the value of that field within a Text Before / Text After filter.

When setting the filters up, be sure to include SPACE characters where required as they are not implied for maximum flexibility!

Cheers,
David.
