csv file format

Submitted by Raxstar on Sun, 2011-05-01 13:32 in

hi

I downloaded the datafeed from affiliate window and opened in excel sheet and made changes in
the category field and saved it but when i save in excel sheet it says "datafeed.csv may contains features
that are not compatible with CSV. Do you want to keep the workbook in this format". even though i have saved
the datafeed and uploaded in the server and when i register in admin the fields are messed up.

once we download the datafeed is it not possible to open in excel sheet and make some changes. what i did
is correct.

regards
rastar

Hi raxstar,

In general you should be able to modify any .CSV feed in Microsoft Excel provided that the import format is compatible; what I would double check first of all is a straight forward Open > Save (without making any changes). If that still results in an incompatibility warning, try using the File > Export option and using quoted text, comma separated as the Export format. When registering the feed, at Feed Registration Step 1, instead of selecting the auto-detected Format String, choose the correct format - "Quoted Text - Header Row - Comma Separated" from the drop-down box...

Cheers,
David.

Hi raxstar,

You can change the number of columns in html/atoz.php at line 3:

  $columns = 1;

David.
