Any release date for the xml slow import file ?

Hi,

the slow import for csv files works great, but i have problems with the normal import of xml files. I have an account on a shared server with hostgator and they have a max execution time of 30 seconds which allows only an import of around 10000 items. I was searching the forum for this issue and found some topics about the development of the slow import for xml files. Is there any release date for this script ? I really need it urgently as there are some databases which are available only as xml files.

Hi Harald,

Please check the following thread for lots of information regarding import timeout and how to run unrestricted imports from the command line, it includes information regarding accessing the command line for your host which they do support but if you are not sure, let me know of course...

thanks for your quick reply. I came along this information yesterday already but they do not really help me as the databases have to be updated daily and automatically on several domains. Yesterday i setup some crons to download the databases, extract and import them automatically. It works great for csv files but not for xml files. A slow import for both formats, csv and xml would be highly appreciated.
