take the /out of category and brand url

I am trying to get the urls without the slash for Brands and categories, can this be done ie sitename.com/brand-brandname instead of sitename.com/brand/brandname.

Yes that can be done but quite a few changes in several files so will be easier for me make the changes for you than to try and describe each one! Can you email me the following:

.htaccess
brands.php
categories.php
search.php
html/navigation.php
