hi david
i am using the new beta version and was wondering is there a way not to display a product that has duplicate with something else. for example i have imported the tickets feed from AW and even though the prices are different it sometimes shows the exact same content.
any ideas how to stop this.
thanks
paul

im using the new beta and WP on this occassion.

Hi Paul,
I see in this instance that the product name contains a band name and then also a date / time. Is that the only version of the product name that you have available in your feed?
Typically, with ticket feeds, the thing to do would be to have a product name that consists of Band and Venue. Then, your product page for that event would lead the users via your affiliate link to the ticket agency where they can then choose the date and time they wish to book.
Does your feed have a "Band" field, which you can register as the main Product Name, and then a separate "Venue" field which you can combine with the Product Name using a Text After filter? Let's say the venue field is called "VENUE" (as shown in the sample data on Feed Registration Step 2), add a new Text After filter to the Product Name field for this feed, and in the configuration box enter:
" at %VENUE%"
(without the quotes, but notice the SPACE at the beginning, which is important!)
This will give you product names like
A-Ha - Farewell Tour at MEN Arena
A-Ha - Farewell Tour at Earls Court
etc.
Hope this helps!
Cheers,
David.

Hi Paul,
Should be plenty of fields to work with - if you're not sure let me know the installation URL and any password required for /admin/ and I'll take a look for you...
Cheers,
David.

Hi Paul,
Duplicates are normally dropped by default by way of the dupe_hash unique index on the products table in the database. Could you perhaps post examples of 2 products that demonstrate the problem (i'll remove the URLs before publishing your post) and I'll take a look...
Cheers,
David.
