Hey Dave is there a way to add a script that I can control keyword density in the title and in the description and it will display results in that order. I have also noticed a lot of unrelated searches when I search for certain items like if I type in womens shoes I will get mens shoes also, is their a way to fix this.
Basically I would like my search to be a little better. Whe I type into Amazon womens shoes thats what I get. Do not take this as me being mean because I am quite aware that you are only one person and you are only capable of doing so much but I am planning on releasing a side of my site powered by you script that I intend to receive a lot more visits and the last thing I want is to completely fall on my face.
So if you can help with the first question that would be great, anything else is just extra credit and me jabbering :)
Basically any help would be appreciated!!
Okay that did help somewhat... Thank you very much and thank you for the quick response...
Now is there a way to add some weights to the search such as url, keyword density in title etc.
would like Keyword density in title (something that I can set a percentage and it uses that density)
Maybe the URL thing is going overboard ;)
I just want to make the most out of what I have and return very relevant results without people being able to game the system to easily.
Also reading the description and setting a density percentage on that would be nice. Sorry if i am being a pain in the butt I am just very happy to be using your script and I would like to push it to something magnificent.
Hey Dave sorry to bother you again but do you have any ideas on this issue?
Hi,
For a niche site, it may be better to disable the Full Text index (which I think in your case is disregarding "mens" and "womens" as being too common). To do this, simply change line 8 in config.advanced.php to:
$config_useFullText = FALSE;
Hope this helps!
Cheers,
David.
