Specific product in another category

Submitted by Geforcy on Wed, 2010-08-18 14:47 in

I wonder if it is possible to map a specific product to another category. Like the following: I have a datafeed with the category Cars. There is a Honda and Toyota car in it. Now I make a category mapping called, Honda. Now I want the honda car in the category Honda and not also the Toyota car. This is wht happens now, I have products in the category that are not in the right category. I want to move the product to the right category.

Thank you already! The product works great so far, except for this issue:(.

Hi there,

"Honda" and "Toyota" would be considered Brands rather than categories - would that sit right with your site?

It would make sense that both a Honda [Car] and Toyota [Car] are both in the "Cars" category, so is it possible that you might have registered a brand field as category instead?

If you're not sure, perhaps if you could email me a link to your installation i'll check it out for you...

Cheers,
David.

Thanks for the fast answer. Sorry it was an example, to be more specific I hve a dutch barbecue website.

Lets say, I import a feed which has the category: Weber barbecues. There are all kind of different barbecues in the there. I want to seperate those barbecues in different categories. For example: Gas barbecue is my mapping category, I want to put all the Gas barbecues of weber in there. And I want all the woodcoal barbecues of weber put in the catgeory, Coal barbecues.

Hope that makes it more clear, if its not clear enough then ill send you the email;-)

Hi!

Yes, please email me and I will look at your brand / category pages - perhaps if you can include some example links where it is wrong I will see what I can suggest! Also please let me know any password required for /admin/, and if there is a specific feed that is causing this issue...

Cheers,
David.
