I'm a new user... how do I create my own feed to upload my own products...
is there a template?
what is the best way to do this?
thanku
Hi David,
Old topic, but is it possible to create an own feed import, and not shown in compare.
Master merchant henk.xml
Thx
Henk
Hi Henk,
It would be incredibly inefficient to have to exclude a specific feed from all SQL queries involved in search results and the subsequent product / price comparison pages i'm afraid since they are designed to make use of indexes on the database - so adding a global WHERE filename <> 'henk.xml' would render most of the indexes unusable.
Could you perhaps describe what you had in mind for your master feed - there are a number of things that users do that involve a manually maintained feed for example to hold custom field values as an alternative to Product Mapping etc. - let me know and I'll see if I can point you in the right direction...
Cheers,
David.

Hi,
You can use spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Excel to create your own feed and upload your own products. I would recommend maintaining and keeping your spreadsheet in native .xls format; and only exporting it when you need to update your own products.
In the first row, simply enter the column headings:
Product Name
Description
Image URL
Buy UR
Price
Category
Brand
(Description, Image URL, Category and Brand are optional)
...and then enter your product information, 1 item per row. To export the product information and upload to your Price Tapestry site; go to File > Export (the default Export options are compatible with Price Tapestry) and save the spreadsheet as a .csv (comma separated values) file. You can then upload the .csv file to your Price Tapestry site and register (first time only) and import the feed just as any other standard affiliate product feed!
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
David.
