Newbie - what merchants have you all used?

I'd like to know which merchants that all of you've been successful in concurrently running with your own affiliate IDs.

Please post your websites so that I can take at look at it.

Thanks

Hi salesone,

The trick is to concentrate on finding merchants that provide good quality feeds. By quality, I mean product names that are just that - names; not a semi-description; and descriptions that somebody has obviously taken time over.

One tip is to keep an eye on new merchants with feeds joining the affiliate networks that you are a member of. Check their feeds for the signs of quality, and if they're good - get them online.

Rather than creating a massive site with hundreds of merchants, another aproach that a number of Price Tapestry users take is to create a network of small sites, each for a particular category; and populate them only with merchants in that category. "Kitchen Appliances" is a good example; and this category forms the basis for the Price Tapestry demo site:

http://www.WebPriceCheck.co.uk/

Other examples include "Home Electronics"; "Gadgets and Gifts" etc.

Hope this provides some insight!
Regards
David.

Here's my flagship Price Tapestry site: Ink Comparison - not finished yet but it does use a pretty customised version of the script (older version) and is making some money already. - it uses about 10 merchants, and if you have ever seen ink datafeeds you'll know that they are a pain to work with, but price tapestry handles them all quite well (though since I'm searching by ink cartridge model number some merchants don't get featured that much).
To do is more SEO related mods and improving the file names and search facility.
