I've only just started looking into using wordpress on a test site. Using the plugin exec-php I got pricetapestry working perfectly and everything was hunky dorey with my template.
I then upgraded to v.2.8 and found that other plugins and a dropdown category box I had stopped working. Found out that it was the exec-php that is causing a problem.
Wondered what do others here use to enable php to be added into a post.
Anybody know of a fix for this? Have written a comment on the author's page, but it didn't appear and not sure if that is still "live" so thought I'd ask how everybody else does it!
TIA
i use the same plugin and ive just upgrade to wordpress 2.8 and all is working fine for me
Thanks jonny...
In which case another thought Jill - are you making sure to edit / save the pages containing PHP code for parsing by php-exec in plain text rather than a rich-text editor? The default editor may have changed in the new version, meaning the PHP is marked up in HTML rather than existing in plain text...
Cheers,
David.
PriceTap is working fine in v.2.8 :)
It is just that exec-php stops some other plugins working. Haven't checked all of them yet but it certainly stops Top 10 plugin and a dropdown box for my categories.
I add the pricetap php bit to the post whilst it is in html mode, as opposed to visual, wysiwyg

OK, the problem is not with the exec-php plugin, which works fine without the price tapestry script.
As soon as I enter the price tapestry script my dropdown category box and top 10 plug in disappear! http://www.homeandgardenworld.co.uk/2009/04/all-up-and-on/
Also, I have the setup to jump straight to the merchant instead of the product detail page, but it just jumps to my home page.
On the page link given above the price tapestry items are at the bottom of the page

Hi Jill,
I spotted something else that doesn't look right - the product links contain a SPACE after the top level / which breaks the link - could you check $external_baseHREF in your calling code?
As i'm not sure where the missing items are supposed to be displayed, could you email me the relevant files (searchExternal.php or external.php) and the calling code that you have added to your WordPress page and I'll check it over..
Cheers,
David.
Hi Jill,
The plugin page at wordpress.com currently shows only as compatible up to 2.7...
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/exec-php/
...on which basis, I would hold off on the upgrade until all the plugins you require support the new version - that's probably the easiest thing to do..
Cheers,
David.
