A better way to customize

Submitted by TWDesigns on Fri, 2009-05-15 00:18 in

Hey David,

I would like to suggest a better way to organize all these great coding snips you and the community share. Currently the only way is search through all the forum posts. I just re-did one of my sites and it's taken me about 7 hours just to find the code for things like plural searches, drop downs, featured product numbers, multiple featured columns, random products and etc.

Maybe we could get a main link at the top of the page dedicated to a section with 100% working "advance functions"?

Just a suggestion! Might help you from having to answer the same questions over again as well!

Also is there a version numbering system? I'm not sure if there's been any new changes in the core files since I downloaded mine last year.

Thanks in advance and as always thank you for ALL of YOUR TIME!

Hi Tommy,

Thanks for your comments. I appreciate it's a bit tricky; the main problem with upgrades (the script has been stable for many months now) is that people want to upgrade to the new features; but by the very nature of the script have already customised their files significantly; which makes upgrading difficult - so I prefer to document changes through the forum so that people can make the changes manually to already customised code...

There is currently a "useful support forum threads" index on the following page - and I'll look through the latest posts to see what should be added...
