Cross-linking of product?

Submitted by daem0n on Fri, 2009-02-27 06:31 in

Hi David,

Quick question. Can you look at this link:
{link saved}

If you look at some of the products on that page (such as the one that starts with "A Cheerful...") when you click on the product, it shows up as a different merchant's product and it changes the name of the product. I'm not sure what happened. I thought maybe the database was messed-up (and maybe it is somehow?) but to make sure, I deleted all records in the products database and re-imported everything and the same thing is happening. I haven't seen this with any other merchants on the site. I have no idea what could be causing it.

Any ideas, have you seen this before?

Thanks! -Joe

Hi Joe,

That's interesting - could you email (perhaps with the other file in the other thread!) your products.php and html/product.php and I'll look into this also!

Cheers,
David.

Hi David,

I think I figured it out. I looked in the database at the products affected and they are products without SKUs. I read this node:

http://www.pricetapestry.com/node/2324

I think that's the same problem. I usually only import the SKU/UPC when one's available but some feeds have some products with a number and others without.

Do you want me to send you the same files as in that thread? I only implemented the same technique (search) as the node mentioned (775) in node 2324.

If yes, should I use your email address?

Thanks a lot, -Joe

Hi Joe,

Yes, that's easily fixed in products.php if you just send me that file...! Use the email address on this page...

Cheers,
David.
