Submitted by gunneradt on Wed, 2009-02-11 12:54 in

I have had timeout problems on large feed imports beofre using price tapestry and it caused a nastier problem which you kindly helped me with.

Is there a way to solve this? Or should you not touch some feeds over Xmb?

cheers

Hi,

The script itself doesn't impose any limits, but remember that there will always be soft limits in terms of the capabilities of your hosting environment.

That said, there shouldn't be any problem with very large feeds if you are able to import via the command line... please see the following page for more info:

...and of course the detailed guide to understanding and working around Apache / PHP timeouts:

Hello,

XML should auto-detect correctly, so just click "Register", and then click "Next" keeping the auto-detected Format String.

Make sure however that the XML is not compressed (i.e. with .zip or .rar). If the sample data on Feed Registration (Step 2) doesn't look right; if you could email me a link to your site I will take a look for you...

Cheers,
David.
