Yesterday i wrote two customers telling them how well things are going and how many users i have referred to them through my site www.tjekpaaprisen.dk. In both cases many thousands.
Both emailed me back and told me that their statistics only show 7 and 10 referrals form my site. My theory is that those 7 and 10 referrals are registered from my custom merchants page with ordinary links to those merchants.
Why dont people clicking on "buy" links on my site show up on merchants statistics as coming from www.tjekpaaprisen.dk? ...and how can i fix that?
It is very hard for me to try an convince merchants to pay me money pr click when i cant prove the traffic my site generates (neither have affiliate programs).
I have made a custom jump.php file like this... http://www.pricetapestry.com/node/717 ...though i have made more changes. I have emails you my jump.php file i case thats where the problem is.
I hope you can help so i can pay for christmas presents :-)

I dont think thats it. I have another merchant with the same kind of catalog and number of daily visits (or "Clicks" in the PT admin interface). This merchant has an affiliate programe though and i am therefore able to veryfy that they get visitors from me.
Merchant 1
- have no affliate programe
- claims only 6 visits in the last month
- PT admin shows about 90 clicks a day
Merchant 2
- have an affliate programe (make about 10 sales a day)
- PT admin shows about 90 clicks a day
I have had robots come by in the past and register thousands of clicks in a day. I have taken that in to account when i say about 90 clicks a day.
Also my site has had 8000 visits in the past mont. Visitors view an average of about 4 pages. It makes no sence to me that one merchant should only get 6 referrals. They have about 5000 items on my site which has around 100.000 i total.
The numbers dont match up i think.

Hello Anders,
What may be happening is that your merchants are tracking unique human visitors, where as your jump.php is being requested by web crawlers (search engines); so perhaps every visit to a product page by a search engine is triggering a request of jump.php.
The best way to prevent this would be to block jump.php using robots.txt. To do this, create a new text file called robots.txt in the top level folder of your website, including the following code:
User-Agent: *Disallow: /jump.php
