how can change the priority for the URLs?

The original sitemap.php in the distribution does not include the priority field (for this very reason); so I'm assuming that this is part of a modification that you have made. Ity should just be a case of removing any lines from sitemap.php responsible for generating the priority tag - but feel free to email me your sitemap.php if you want me to check it out for you...
