Where to Find Filter Javascript similar to Pronto and Slogging?

Submitted by ICH on Sat, 2008-03-15 19:03 in

i am reposting it in order to clarify it for all of you and make it more clear what i am looking for.

The script i am looking for is to be used in order to present merchant, category and brand page better ( ie http://www.webpricecheck.co.uk/merchant/ - http://www.webpricecheck.co.uk/category/ - http://www.webpricecheck.co.uk/brand/ ) better to my users

so i would like to intergrate this in a similar way to the pronto and slogging.com ones do it on their filters.

actually i am trying to find the same javascript (ajax?) script pronto/slogging uses for its filters

have a look at http://www.pronto.com/search-canon-eos/ if you go on the left and click "view all" at the brand filters you will see the brand filters expand within the same place like an "iframe" and then you will be able to choose, browse, search, close etc of all the brands available for it... same at slogging (example here http://www.shogging.com/All/canon+eos/c/00000000 )

how do i do that? where can i find this script?

Hi,

Those sites are using quite complex AJAX (Asynchronous JavaScript and XML) techniques, in conjunction with a more comprehensive database structure than a Price Tapestry site.

I'm afraid there is so much to it that I don't think there is a script available that will just plug into your site and replicate that functionality - in both cases they will be custom developed scripts working in conjunction with a web service on the back end.

Cheers,
David.
