LinkShare

Submitted by interfx on Sun, 2006-04-09 00:20 in

I am looking to purchase (looks great), but I am trying to make this work with an affiliate of LinkShare.com. It generates the product feed for me, but when I run the MagicParser tool, no fields come back...

Any ideas? Am I missing something? What should I be looking for?

Here's the company I am trying to do

http://www.wwbw.com

Thanks in advance for any ideas?

For example, when I type in the product URL, this is what comes back on teh demo of Magic Parser... I wasn't sure if this was good or bad?

Field Content
SCRIPT
SCRIPT-LANGUAGE javascript
SCRIPT-SRC /scripts/WWBW/expand.js

If I can make this work, I'm buying...

The linkshare feeds have to be edited first because they add some text at the top, I forget exactly the text but open it in note pad and you'll see it.

Hi,

Magic Parser was recently updated to work with Linkshare feeds - please see this thread for more info:

As regards to your test on the Magic Parser demo tool; it doesn't look like a valid feed was actually returned. The output that you posted implies that a page of HTML was returned, and Magic Parser tried to parse that - as the SCRIPT tags are something found in HTML.

Quite often, affiliate networks return an "authentication failed" page if there was something wrong with the URL, perhaps if the password or affilaite ID was invalid. The safest way to do it would be download a feed from Linkshare manually, verify the contents by looking at the file in a text editor; and then upload using Option 1 on the demo tool.

Hope this helps!
David.
