Import.php running for 18 hours!!!

Submitted by jonny5 on Thu, 2007-11-15 12:25 in

had an email from the server company today that said they had to kill the import script as it had been running for 18 hours (quite amazed they let me run it for that long really :) )

any way it usually takes 1 to 2 hours , the only changes i have made were to add a lot of "drop record if category Is....) one retailer has 20 or so of these added , as i wanted to reduce the size of the database and just have the items i want.

do you know if this would have caused the problems???

cheers

Hi Jonny,

It shouldn't cause any problem as dropping records means less database activity not more. However, would it be possible for you to test this by trying to import the feed that you have created these filters against on its own and see how long it takes, or whether it does hang up...

Cheers,
David.
