Hi Jonny,

If you have installed the script into a sub-directory, for example "shopping", check that you have edited your .htaccess file as follows:

RewriteBase /shopping/

That should be all it is. Any problems if you could email me a link to your site i'll take a look for you...

Cheers,
David.

Hi Jonny,

I've just checked your site. When you enable rewrite, the URL for the merchant, category and brand indexes change - however I notice that you have remove the links generated by index.php so therefore you have probably not realised this.

Instead of:

http://www.yoursite.com/brands.php go to http://www.yoursite.com/brand/
http://www.yoursite.com/categories.php go to http://www.yoursite.com/category/
http://www.yoursite.com/merchants.php go to http://www.yoursite.com/merchant/

The links will then work fine. However, I also notice from your site you are referencing a lot of your resources using a relative URL, which doesn't work when you use rewrite, because the web browser thinks you are in a subdirectory of your site. Have a look at the following thread, which is about the same problem:

Hope this helps,
Cheers,
David.
