Do i hv to use any specific command to get the product feeds etc. from a particular merchant via linkshare? In fact i create a few products links from a merchant of linkshare and save it in .txt file and then generated the code and upload to feed directory. follow the process. no images. wrong prices. and then click visit the site it goes back to my main page. Could you please explain the step by step as well as citing an example. I am totally blank now.
Also how to get the feeds for a particular category of a merchant site. and how to create list of categories on my site.
Can i get product feeds from non affiliates site as well?

Hello Jack,

You have to get the feeds from the affiliate networks that you are a member of. There are some links to some of the networks and URLs for downloading their feeds on the following page:

Most of those are UK networks, but the US networks have similar provision for product feeds. In particular, if you are a member of Sharasale their feeds are easy to get started with using Price Tapestry.

Having obtained a feed, you simply upload it to your /feeds/ directory using your FTP program, just as you would upload any other file to your website. After the upload has completed, you then go to the /admin/ area and register the feed in order to import the products:

If you are unsure of how to obtain feeds for the merchants that you promote on Linkshare, contact their technical support and they will make sure that datafeeds are enabled for your account and show you where to download them.

Categories will be created automatically when you import products from the feeds, assuming that you have registered a "Category" field (or specified a category) when registering the feed. If you wanted to create a category specific site, this simply involves limiting the merchants you add to that particular site to those of a particular category - perhaps matching the categories used by the affiliate network to organise their merchants.

Hope this helps
Cheers,
David.
