Hi,
Ive recently transfered my price tapestry folders from my local windows machine to my remote linux server and brief testing showed all to be ok.
I downloaded the latest uncompressed feed to my local machine and tested ok. I also downloaded a gz version of the same file for upload to the server. This I unzipped on the server and again replaced the test file on server with it. However, on the server I get the same pause ( about 10 secs ) you get when you open the admin page for the first time after adding feeds to the feeds directory ( and the browser loading bar starts to climb ) - but then nothing - at all - no html, nothing. Could you give me some ideas as to where to start looking for the problem?
Thanks, Steve.
Hi David,
Ive seen the post on server timeouts - so I can check this if neccesary but in this case I am only entering mysite/admin into the browser , the page looks as if it might load and then nothing. I just wondered whether this indicated anything obvious.
Thanks, steve.
Hi Steve,
If it is just going to the admin page itself that indicates something else wrong. Can you email me a link to your site and i'll take a look - it shouldn't be too hard to nail..!
Cheers,
David.
Hello Steve,
Do you mean when you have clicked "Register" alongside a feed that you have uploaded, rather than just going into the /admin/ page itself? If so, this sounds like it might be a host imposed timeout issue on your server, which would explain why it doesn't happen on your local test server. Please check over the information in the following thread regarding how to identify if this is a timeout issue, and what steps to take. If this doesn't seem to be the case, and you are still not able to get to the registration page (step 1) feel free to email me a link to your site and i'll take a look for your - reply to your reg code or forum registration email is the easiest way to get me...
Cheers,
David.
