How has everyone handled sub categories? For instance if you have Electronics as a category and want Televisions as a sub-category, and then Plasma, Projection, etc. as sub-categories of Television. Any ideas how to handle this?
We have discussed sub-categories in the past, but when you actually get down to look at it there just isn't the quality of data available to support it.
Some people however install multiple versions of Price Tapestry into sub-directories; one for each main category; and then create their own top level index in the root directory. It is also reasonably straight forward to create a top level search box with a drop-down for the category you wish to search in at the top level - there's some example code in this thread:
