I have been looking for an example of how to enter text to go alongside the extra fields in the description. Can you provide a short example?

There's 2 ways to do this in the current version. The original "Extra Field", enables you to enter text as a "key" field in the text box along side each field that you are appending to the description field. Remember to include spaces or any other separating characters. For example you might enter "Delivery Price: " (without the quotes) - note the space at the end of the string.
The new way to do it involves using the "Text After" filter, which can reference other fields in the current record using the %NAME% convention. By combining these placeholders with other text, you can create any effect you wish, and even incorporate HTML if you wish. There's an example in this thread where HTML is used to create a bulleted list:

Hi,
You can add other fields to the description with the Extras feature.
On the Admin home page; click "Extras" alongside the feed; and check any additional fields that you want included in the description. You can enter some text to go with the field, like "Delivery Charge" if you wish.
