Hi David , would really like to understand all this PHP script a bit more and was wondering if there are any books you would recommend as a guide and for learning the basics?

It's difficult for me to recommend one as I've never really used any mainstream PHP books as such. I've come from a development background already, and have been programming in "C" (upon which PHP shares some similarities) for many years before I got into web development. This, combined with the PHP manual is all I really used to pick-up the language. Always worth starting here of course; and then maybe lookup the programming techniques separately:

I don't know if anyone else can recommend anything they've used to pick-up PHP...?
