Datafeed has multiple categories separated by a comma

Submitted by ccgale on Wed, 2017-09-06 13:15 in

Hi

Sorry to post a support question so long after purchase. Am a bit stuck with a minor issue and that is importing datafeeds which have products in more in than one category. For example, in my feed I have products which are in both ipod and cases, the feed lists them as ipod,cases. However, when I import this into the tool creates a new category called ipodcases instead of assigning that product into both ipod and cases.

Is there a way around this, please? I searched the forum but didn't find much luck.

Many thanks

Hi,

No problem!

I know you've been using the script for several years now, it is reasonably straight forward (but a few mods so these will depend on version) to re-purpose the `category` field to hold a comma separated list of category values allowing a product to appear in multiple categories.

If you could perhaps email me from this installation;

includes/admin.php
search.php

...and I'll apply the patch for you to try...

Cheers,
David.
