Renaming the /admin/ folder

Submitted by Convergence on Mon, 2012-06-11 05:37 in

Greetings,

Is it possible to rename the admin folder or would there be too many files that needed to be changed?

Thanks!

Hi,

There's no direct reference to /admin/ in any of the /admin/ files so you can simply rename it as required, no problem!

Cheers,
David.

Hi David,

Beautiful - thank you!

Hi David,

Ooops. There are several files within the admin folder that have to have admin/ changed to newadmin/

However, Couldn't get the header to change or the login button to work correctly - always went back to /admin/

Oh well - if you have time to double check /admin/ files in v12/10B that would be great.

Have a great day!

Ah sorry, overlooked the Location: redirects.

Keeping with newadmin/ as the new folder, a Search and Replace of admin/ with newadmin/ would be required in

admin_menu.php
database_tool.php
feeds_import_slow.php
login.php
support.php

(that should cover the login problem after changing the name as login.php has a redirect to $config_baseHREF."admin."...

Cheers,
David.
