Corrupted database?

Submitted by SteveBolton on Tue, 2017-02-21 08:38 in

Hi David,

I have been adding feed files to my site and had a problem with one which appears to have corrupted my Supplier listings, and it won't deregister when I delete it from the feed file, have you seen this before? I get product listings in the supplier listing for some strange reason, and the records count says there are only six records imported when there are over 1,400 in the file,

Thanks in advance and best regards,
Steve

Hello Steve,

That's strange - try replacing the feed (make sure it has exactly the same filename as it was previously registered with) and then try registering the feed again.

However, on Feed Registration Step 2, select an invalid field for the "Price" column - study the Sample Data shown below the form and if there is one, choose a field that is always empty (for XML feeds there first field which is the containing XML element e.g. "PRODUCT" is always empty). If there is no empty field available, choose one that is either empty or guaranteed to be text.

Then click Register and Trial Import. Having selected an invalid field for "Price", you should then return to the /admin/ home page and the feed should be showing as registered but with zero products.

If that's the case, now DELETE the feed from the /feeds/ folder once more, refresh the /admin/ home page and click De-Register and that should clean the products table of all references to that feed. Let me know if the removal is still not behaving as expected and I'll check it out further with you, in which case if you could perhaps email me a link to the installation and details of the feed filename / merchant name that has caused the problem I'll check it out further with you...

Cheers,
David.

Hello Steve,

If it would be OK if you could email me a link to the installation and temporary password for access to /admin/, and also confirm the filename / merchant name of the feed / supplier that is causing the problem I'll check it out further for you...

Cheers,
David.
