fetching and importing Cron Job

Submitted by stevebi on Tue, 2015-10-20 14:15 in

Hello David,

I wanted to ask a question concerning cron jobs.
I have a lot of feeds at my website and the cron job needs more than 12 hours to finish. I was thinking if it is possible to set the cron job to run at the following way.

1)Fetching all feeds
2)import first feed
3)backfilling first feed
4)import sevond feed
5)backfilling second feed

and carry on...

I do not know if this will overload the server and the website will run slower

Cheers

Steve

Hi Steve,

Yes that process can be set-up quite easily - I'll work the changes out on my test server, in the mean time if you could email me your current;

includes/admin.php
scripts/cron.php

..i'll patch and send back to you to give it a go...

Cheers,
David.
