They all work in a very similar way! So if there is a web service URL that can be requested with an arbitrary query (e.g. search terms or product name), and returns an response in either CSV or an XML format (or more recently JSON - that's easily process too!) then it should be straight forward to modify the standard API scripts accordingly.
If you could post a link to the documentation for the API service you wish to use I'll take a look, or if you only have something available in documentation if you would like to email me any details you have I'll take a look...
